🌡️ Who Touched the Thermostat?!
In multi-person households, smarthome devices like thermostats often turn into battlegrounds. Your task? Design a mobile dashboard for a smarthome app that shows who changed what, when, and why—from temperature settings to light schedules.
This feature should encourage transparency, reduce confusion, and spark fewer fights over who set the AC to 16°C (or 62°F) at 2 AM.
User Persona
Terry, 34, Lives in a shared apartment with two roommates. Loves automation but hates not knowing who’s fiddling with the smarthome settings. Wants accountability without being a jerk.
Constraints
Must work in dark mode
Show a log of interactions (user + action + timestamp)
Only show changes made in the past 72 hours
Must display both Celsius and Fahrenheit (toggle or auto-detect preferred)
Suggested Tools
Figma, Penpot, Framer, or even Notion for flows
Brand Vibes
Look at the clean and character-rich styles of Tado°, Eve Home, and Nest. Keep it friendly, but not cartoonish.
Tip
“Design should never say, ‘Look at me.’ It should always say, ‘Look at this.’” – David Craib
